Quick Rephrase is designed so the default path keeps text on your device.

Local by default

• Nano and WebLLM run locally in Chrome.
• Settings and keys live in Chrome extension storage.

Cloud path

If you enable Cloud, selected text is sent to Gemini with your key over HTTPS. Don’t share your key; revoke it in Google AI Studio if leaked.

Permissions

We request only what the product needs: context menus, active tab, storage, scripting, clipboard write. No history permission.
